Updike Distribution Logistics runs regional dry van freight across the Western United States, anchored in Northern California by our Vacaville driver domicile, with a second warehouse in Woodland — and we’ve been family-owned and driver-first since 1989.
We’re a 3PL that hauls its own freight between its own buildings. That means steady, repeatable lanes — not spot-market feast and famine.
Driver Pay
- $60,000–$75,000 annually on our Western Region regional lanes
- Safety bonus — up to 3¢ per mile, depending on mileage
- Production bonus — up to 2.5¢ per mile, paid monthly, depending on mileage
- Detention pay and layover pay
- Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k)
- Pet discount services
- Average weekly miles: 2,400–2,600
Regional Home Time
Our NorCal lanes are built for regional drivers: predictable runs designed to get you home on a weekly basis, or at least on weekends. No unlimited-radius OTR, no surprise reroutes to the other side of the country. You’ll know your lanes, and your family will know your schedule.

Newer, well-maintained tractors pulling dry van trailers — no reefer units, no hazmat. Our maintenance team handles equipment issues immediately, so you’re driving, not waiting.

The Lanes: NorCal and the Western Regional Network
Northern California drivers serve the northern arm of Updike’s western regional network, connecting Central Valley and Bay Area freight with our Phoenix hub and facilities across Arizona, Nevada, and Utah via the I-5, I-80, and US-99 corridors. Consistent customer freight in both directions keeps deadhead low and paychecks steady.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least two years of verifiable driver experience within the last five years
- Must be at least 24 years of age
- A current medical card is required
- Safe driving record meeting UDL and DOT standards
- Willingness to run regional lanes across the western states
