Utah drivers sit at a crossroads — literally. I-15 and I-80 meet here, and so does a lot of empty recruiting talk. Updike Distribution Logistics offers something more concrete: regional dry van lanes in a family-owned western network that’s been treating drivers right since 1989.
Our Salt Lake City warehouse at 2850 S 900 West, South Salt Lake, UT 84119 anchors the northern reach of Updike’s western regional network — steady customer freight moving between our own facilities across Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.
Driver Pay
- $60,000–$75,000 annually on our Western Region regional lanes
- Safety bonus — up to 3¢ per mile, depending on mileage
- Production bonus — up to 2.5¢ per mile, paid monthly, depending on mileage
- Detention pay and layover pay
- Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k)
- Pet discount services
- Average weekly miles: 2,400–2,600
Regional Home Time
These are regional lanes, not open-ended OTR. Predictable runs down the I-15 corridor and across the western network are designed to get you home on a weekly basis, or at least on weekends — a schedule your family can actually count on.
The Equipment
Newer, well-maintained tractors pulling dry van trailers. No reefer, no hazmat. Equipment issues are handled immediately by our own maintenance operation, because a driver in the shop isn’t earning.
The Lanes: Utah and the Western Regional Network
Drivers on our Utah lanes connect the Salt Lake corridor with our Phoenix hub and the rest of the Southwest loop (Phoenix–Las Vegas–Southern California), primarily along I-15, with freight into Nevada and Arizona. Because Updike owns the warehouses on both ends — more than three million square feet across the West — the freight is consistent and the deadhead is low. See all of our buildings on the locations page.
